Welcome Back! We are going to continue to learn about and use informational text this week. Here is the schedule for this week:

Mon. 1/4: Review and practice Reading Strategies with different types of texts, focus on Informational text; No homework.

Tues. 1/5: Continue Nonfiction Unit: "Weapons of War" article and packet; No homework

Wed. 1/6: Continue Nonfiction Unit: "Weapons of War" article and packet; No homework

Thur. 1/7: Memory String Work, Symbols for Types of Texts; No homework

Fri. 1/8: Reading Day; Student/Teacher grade conferences; No homework

Week 12/21-12/22

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!
This is a very short week with only a few things to accomplish. Here is the schedule:

Mon. 12/21: Reading Strategy review: Teacher/Student conference to review grades; No homework

Tues. 12/22: Follow up to Non-Fiction essay "Sparky"- We will be watching a "Peanuts" Movie

Week 12/14-12/18

Hello Folks! We are going to continue with our Nonfiction unit with two more article from our reading text. We will be learning and reviewing strategies that with help with comprehension skills. Here is this weeks schedule:

Mon. 12/14: "Sparky" article and packet; No homework
Tues. 12/15: Finish "Sparky" article and packet; No homework
Wed. 12/16: "Growing Up in the Dark" article and Packet; No homework
Thur. 12/17 Finish "Growing Up in the Dark" article and Packet; No homework
Fri. 12/18: Reading Day; Student/Teacher grade conference in class

Week 12/7-12/11

Hello All!! For the next couple of weeks we will be working on our Nonfiction Unit. We will be reading a variety of nonfiction articles and essays as we use the reading strategies that we have learned. These nonfiction articles and essays are informational text and we will be reviewing the components and uses of informational text in an in-class study packet. Here is this weeks schedule:

Mon. 12/7: "Earthquakes" Nonfiction story; Start "Earthquakes" study packet; No homework

Tues.12/8: Continue "Earthquakes" Nonfiction story; Continue "Earthquakes" study packet; No homework

Wed. 12/9: Continue "Earthquakes" Nonfiction story; Continue "Earthquakes" study packet; No homework

Thur. 12/10: Memory String Work : Symbols and reviews of wht was learned during "The Darkside," "Newspaper," and "Earthquake" units; No homework

Fri. 12/11: Student/Teacher in-class conferences; reading day; No homework
