Week 9/14-9/19

Hi All!!

This week we will be continuing to work on the types of texts we read. We will still be learning about the purposes and uses of instructional texts and move into learning about the different types and uses of functional texts. Students will have the opportunity to work with several different types of functional texts and have worksheets and activities that go along with them. Students will have plenty of time to finish the worksheets in class, however, if a student chooses to not use his or her time wisely, they will be responsible to finish the work at home. These lessons. worksheets, and activities are designed to help with functional reading.

Here is a list of the types of texts we will be covering:
dictionary use
alphabetized items (indexes, etc.)
Telephone directories
Schedules
